Our Mission

We are on a mission to educate and equip young African creatives with the business knowledge they need to become financially successful and thriving creative entrepreneurs.

For so long, artists and creatives on the African continent have been nurtured to believe they have to sacrifice their material well-being in order to focus on their work and passion.

We envision a continent where this “starving artist” narrative is shifted to a “striving artist” mindset. Through our work, we aim to build a force of African creatives who are well-rounded and do not have to sacrifice one aspect of their life to find fulfilment in the other.

To attain this vision, we aim to promote access to the information, education, skills and opportunities that African creatives need to build and maintain successful and sustainable entrepreneurial careers using their creative talent and skills.

    Damilola is a lettering artist and creative designer with a passion for communications, branding, design, and creative entrepreneurship. He is enthusiastic about creative entrepreneurship and the development of the African creative economy.

  • Wisdom Ayòdeji Ebai is a creative communications professional and storyteller based in Kigali, Rwanda. He's spent the last few years working alongside artists and creatives across Africa, helping them find their voice, build their brands, and access opportunities on bigger stages.

    He's currently finishing a degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership at the African Leadership University in Kigali, and his work combined culture, community, and education. At the heart of it is a simple belief: African creatives have the talent, what's often missing is the business knowledge and support to turn that talent into something sustainable. That's the gap he's spent his career trying to close, and exactly why he's excited to be part of what Lucreative Africa is building. (And when he's not working on any of that, he's probably brewing some tea.)
